Hawzah News Agency- An annual study found that civilian casualties from bombings and explosive violence reached their highest global level in over a decade, mostly resulting from the intense bombardments in Gaza and Lebanon by the Zionist regime.
The AOAV reported a total of 61,353 civilian deaths or injuries in 2024, the highest number recorded since the organization began its research in 2010.
Israel's brutal attacks were responsible for a staggering 55% of all recorded civilian deaths and injuries in 2024, making it the primary culprit. The Russia-Ukraine war came in second, accounting for 19% of casualties.
The research also highlighted significant conflicts in Sudan and Myanmar, which together accounted for 8% of total casualties.
It's important to note that AOAV's data is based on English-language reports of explosive violence, meaning that the actual number of civilian casualties is likely underreported due to limited media coverage in this language.
The report revealed that thanks to Israel's actions, the number of civilian deaths worldwide has increased by 51%, while injuries surged by 81%!
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported over 23,600 deaths in Gaza in 2024, suggesting that media reports significantly underestimated the actual death toll.
Gaza war most destructive, fatal conflict' in 21st century
In December last year, a UK-based war monitor labeled "Israel's" assault against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October of last year as the "most destructive and fatal conflict" in recent history.
According to an Airwars report, "By almost every metric, the harm to civilians from the first month of the Israeli campaign in Gaza is incomparable with any 21st-century air campaign."
